D4G Solenoid diagnosis help

Hey everyone, I could use some help. I'm workin on a D4G with the serial number CFN01044 and I need to test a proportional solenoid.

Does anyone know the best way to check it? Like, what voltage or resistance I should be looking for, or if there's an easy test I can do before replacing any parts? I'd really appreciate any advice or a quik guide

For testing a proportional solenoid, you'll generally want to check both resistance and how it responds to a controlled voltage or current signal.
Resistance is the easiest first step, just disconnect the solenoid and check the ohms across the two pins.
Compare that reading to the spec in your service manual.
If it's way off, it's likely bad.
But that doesn't give you the complete picture as proportional solenoids are designed to modulate based on the signal they receive.
The best way to truly test one is to apply a variable voltage or current, depending on the solenoid's design, then see if the spool moves smoothly and proportionately.
You can sometimes do this with a specialized tester, or if you're careful, a bench power supply with adjustable output.
Just make sure you don't over-voltage it.
Before you go pulling it, also check the wiring harness and connectors to the solenoid for any signs of damage or corrosion.
