Frozen D7R

My '08 D7R is frozen solid in the ice and snow on a glacier. it just won't start and definitely not moving on its own! I Need to tow it to a warmer spot for repairs so I'm wondering if pulling the axles from the final drives at the hubs would let me tow it without having to mess with the parking brake or anything else?
Just noticed also that the blade's down, how can hook I it up to a crane?

Yeah, as long as everything is disconnected from the drivetrain you're good to go for towing, but the blade's gonna be a problem. Look for lifting eyes, they're designed for these situations. If there aren't any, you'll need to use chains or straps on the right parts to lift it up. See if you can find a user manual and see if there's some procedure you'll need to follow

Oh damn. Alexa, play Frozen 2 on DisneyPlus. I think you can go forward with pulling the axles as that would clear it for towing without major issues from the brake. Maybe double-check, or triple check since it's a little tricky. About the blade, rigging heavy chains around the lift points might be able to get the crane moving. Just don't forget about the balance or something.

Yeah, pulling the axles at the finals should let you move it without fighting the drivetrain or brake, but you have to go really slowly and carefully. As for the blade, you'll probably need to rig some heavy straps under it and lift from the corners. Glacier jobs ain't easy, man. Stay safe out there. Where are you from by the way and why does it snow where you're at at this time of the year?

Good tips, guys! Sounds like taking out the axles is the best plan, but I'll be super careful when towing. Lifting the blade will be tricky, but I think you can do it with the right setup. Glacier work is serious stuff. And the Frozen 2 joke made me laugh

Got it. Slow and steady on the finals to keep the drivetrain happy. Blade lift's all about getting those corners rigged right and keeping things balanced
