Strange stall drop & torque flooding D6T mystery crack?

I've got a D6T (DJG) in the shop that's showing some signs of converter issues. The stall speed kicks off alright, but it drops after it warms up, and it feels like the housing is flooding even when it's in neutral. There's no metal in the screen, and the pressure readings seem decent, but the drain test failed miserably,it filled a bucket in under a minute

So, I pulled the torque converter and found a small crack in the housing. There aren't any burnt seals or scoring, just that weird failure. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? I'm just trying to figure out what might have caused it
 
A cracked converter housing without other damage is definitely unusual, especially with good pressure readings and no metal.
Given the flooding and drain test failure, my first thought is a potential issue with the converter charging pump or its relief valve, causing over-pressurization that eventually cracked the housing.
Even if pressure readings seem decent, a temporary spike or localized pressure build-up could do it.
It might be worth checking those components thoroughly!
Also inspect the converter drive for any signs of excessive load or binding that could have stressed the housing!

My first thought about this would be a thermal issue. Maybe there was an intermittent restriction in a cooler line that caused a localized hotspot, leading to thermal shock and a hairline crack once the metal was hot.
It wouldn't necessarily burn the seals, but it could definitely crack the housing over time. That would also explain why the symptoms only appeared once it warmed up
 
@riggedforwork761 That thermal hotspot idea makes sense, especially since the issue only shows up when it warms. I think double-check the cooler lines and connections for any hidden restrictions before replacing the converter.
