Transmission filter cleaning on Cat D3

has anyone here ever cleaned the transmission filter on a Cat D3? Or is there even one to clean? I've had this dozer for a while, but I've never really looked into it. Just wondering if it's something I should be checking. I'd appreciate any thoughts

Why clean it? Not sure about the price, but I doubt it's more than 50 bucks, so might as well replace it and work worry free.

Yeah, there is a transmission filter depending on the year, it might be a spin on or a cartridge style, and you should check it out but you don't exactly clean it like an air filter, though, it's usually replaced outright, exactly I agree with @StanLee

Good call. I learned this lesson the hard way with an old D3B we used to clear fence lines. I never even considered the transmission filter until the steering began acting weird. When I took it apart, I found it completely clogged. I swapped it out, and the difference was astonishing. Since then, I've been replacing them on schedule. It's definitely worth the small cost for the peace of mind

Guys, @StanLee is right, there's hardly any point in cleaning a filter that you should replace. It doens't cost an arm and a leg, but it's crucial for it to be in a good shape, so I'm struggling to find a season why you'd risk it.
